Common concerns of a first-time home buyer

The decision to purchase your first home can be one of the scariest yet most exciting decisions you make in a lifetime. But the biggest determent for first-time home buyers is simply the unknown.

And that is where I come in! The real estate agent - and the best part for buyers: I am FREE!

There are a lot of common concerns that first-time home buyers share when it comes to their first house investment.

  • Where do I even begin?
  • I found a house on Zillow - now how do I get it?!
  • How much does it cost to use a realtor?
  • I am not sure if I can afford a house, although, I am not really sure how much it will eve cost me?
  • I believe my credit is "too low" - how do I know exactly how to repair it or find out where it needs to be?
  • How much will my mortgage be if the house is $---?
  • How soon do I start looking for a home?

If you can relate to a lot of these - you are not alone. And most of these questions come with rather simple answers.

  • Where do I even begin? Calling me, I can send you information step-by-step on what a "typical" buyers transaction looks like. This includes the first step you need to take to get the ball rolling: calling a lender.

  • I found a house on Zillow - now how do I get it?! If you don't already have a pre-approval  from a lender then unfortunately, you are skipping the first step to the home-buying process. It is important to submit the pre-approval letter with your offer when that time comes.

  • How much does it cost to use a realtor? **FREE** I don't cost you anything, so take advantage of me!

  • I am not sure if I can afford a house, although, I am not really sure how much it will eve cost me? You will get your answers rather quickly - but you need to take the first step: calling a lender.

  • I believe my credit is "too low" - how do I know exactly how to repair it or find out where it needs to be? This is another beneficial conversation to have with a lender. Their services include very specific ways to help boost your credit as quickly as possible. They can give you realistic goals and a realistic time-frame.

  • How much will my mortgage be if the house is $---? Again, as soon as you have that conversation with a lender, you will walk away feeling more secure about house shopping. They can come up with as many numbers as necessary to give you a recommended price range that you find comfortable.

  • How soon do I start looking for a home? The process takes an average of 2 to 3 months. I would definitely call a lender at least 3 months prior to your timing goals. Again, it is never to soon to speak with a lender - it is a simple conversation and the turn around is quick to get the answers you need!

As you can see, a lot of the answers are simple and comforting. And as for the more specific financial questions - they are all directed to the lender. If you need a recommended lender reach out to me and I can provide you with multiple. There is no benefit to me for recommending a lender other than ensuring that your experience is exceptional. I want to make sure that the lender you work with is professional and creates a winning situation for all of my clients.

It is never too early to call a lender for advice or an idea of where you sit financially. As soon as you receive your pre-approval letter, it's time for the fun part - going out and shopping!
